From 12 September to 18 October 2026, the art route 5 Corners Up! brings art by thirty artists to twenty remarkable locations around Mechelsplein, Sint-Jorispoort and Mechelsesteenweg, a neighbourhood where history, craftsmanship and local culture come together.
Art crops up amid the smell of fresh bread, an endless collection of gloves or knives, building and furniture hardware, fabrics for wedding dresses and an unlikely abundance of speciality beers.
The beating heart of it all is NQ Gallery, which marks its fifth anniversary with this route.
Let yourself be surprised. You're always welcome to step inside — no ticket needed.
Choose your own starting point and walk at your own pace. On the interactive map you'll find all twenty participating locations with the thirty artists and their opening hours. Opening hours vary per location. You can also follow the route via Google Maps.
Discover young talent and established artists alike, all in one walk through the city.
For 5 Corners Up!, Niqui van Olphen and her co-curators selected thirty artists with an open eye for people, nature and society. Fifteen young and fifteen established artists created work in the heart of the city, closely connected to the place where it is shown.

During 5 Corners Up!, get to know the young artists in person and discover more about their inspiration, working method and the places their work was made for.
Every Thursday and Saturday, a guided walk departs at 14:00 from stop 1: NQ Gallery. From there, you'll follow the route together and the artists will happily talk you through the stories behind their works. Check the agenda for dates.
